World Universiade is the highest level of the global university sports competition. The competition categories, participated countries and participants number are second only to the Olympic.
Host the World Universiade is helpful for Taiwan’s internal and international image. For the domestic aspect, in addition to enhance national sport atmosphere, we could also take this opportunity to build international venues and facilities. In the international orientation, this event can promote Taipei to an international level city, and increases Taiwan’s international visibility and international participation.

World Universiade represents not only an international sports event, it also includes multiple missions of the urban renewal, universal participation, cultural upgrading of the host city. In 2017, the international community will focus on Taipei. Look forward to seeing all Taiwanese to participate in this event, pushing Taipei to the world stage and making the success of Taiwan’s pride.
