2017 Tokyo International Gift Show
The Tokyo International Gift Show (TIGS) is Japan's largest professional gift exhibition. The 84th edition was held in the fall of 2017. The previous exhibition covered an area of 84,360 square meters, with 2,729 companies from 20 countries exhibiting and 189,023 visitors. Among them, 183,845 were local Japanese buyers (97.26%) and 5,178 were buyers from other overseas regions. It is an important platform for Taiwan's gift industry to expand into the Japanese market.
Because Japan is a country that highly values exchanging and giving gifts, many people choose to give gifts to their relatives and friends on Christmas, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, and birthdays every year. Therefore, the Japanese gift market has a very broad prospect, with a current market size of approximately US$120 billion. Many foreign companies regard participating in the Tokyo Gift Show as a shortcut to enter the Japanese gift market.
