WildOne is one of the few non-profit organizations in Taiwan dedicated to the rescue, medical treatment, and rehabilitation of wildlife, with its main facility located in Chishang, Taitung. In 2025, marking the 5th anniversary of the WildOne hospital, the association decided to produce a set of commemorative badges as reward gifts for their independent fundraising campaign, serving simultaneously as a medium to promote ecological education to the public.

The 5th-anniversary badge series was commissioned to yesyoyeh_design. Inspired by the style of European coats of arms, the design utilizes classic metal outlines combined with a hand-drawn, vintage aesthetic. Three easily misidentified yet lesser-known native species were selected as the key visuals. WildOne needed a manufacturing partner capable of accurately converting this detailed design into physical metal badges. This is where Chung Jen's expertise comes in: starting from the original design drafts, we evaluated the feasibility of materials, electroplating, and enamel coloring. We integrated sampling, metal coloring, mass production, and packaging into a seamless one-stop process, saving WildOne from monitoring every manufacturing step.

The three badges feature zinc alloy paired with sand nickel plating, utilizing multi-color soft enamel to replicate the soft layers of the hand-drawn strokes. The Taiwan Cobra badge incorporates additional UV printing to accurately represent the details of the eyes and neck patterns. The complete set of commemorative badges will be distributed during the 5th-anniversary fundraising event, each accompanied by a dedicated card introducing the species and WildOne's conservation story, transforming a simple giveaway into a micro-ecological education experience.

5th Anniversary Badge Designs

Brown Booby Badge

Brown Boobies spend most of their time at sea. If one is seen lingering on land, it is highly likely in distress and needs assistance. They are often mistaken for foreign species; in reality, they simply inhabit remote environments, making them less visible in daily life.

Design Elements: Coastal seabirds combined with wave motifs and their primary food source, squid.

Formosan Flying Fox Badge

Although the Formosan Flying Fox sleeps upside down like other bats, it is strictly herbivorous, surviving by chewing fruits and extracting juices. This species is even rarer than the Formosan Black Bear.

Design Elements: Rare fruit-eating bat featured alongside its primary foods, mango and fig.

Taiwan Cobra Badge

The Taiwan Cobra is often mistaken for the exotic King Cobra. It is actually a common native snake in Taiwan and a natural helper in environmental pest control. While venomous, its presence reminds us to maintain a safe distance and respect the living spaces of wildlife for harmonious coexistence.

Design Elements: Native snake species integrated with common habitat flora, wood sorrel and violet.
